Marina Market – Online Store Review

Marina Market – Online Store Review

Marina Market, located in Poulsgo, Washington, opened in 1988 with a goal to bring Dutch, Scandinavian, and other European foods to the Western Puget Sound. I stumbled across this company on a list of online beer stores and decided to check them out. What immediately caught my attention was Berserker from Midnight Sun. I had been looking for that beer a number of years but never had any luck. Checking their inventory against my “To … Read entire article »

LetsPour – Online Store Review

LetsPour  is a Seattle-based retailer the offers wine and beer for sale online. Simple, you think, but Lets Pour goes about it differently.  For beers, they ship out of California, Florida, and Washington. You can order any number of bottles but to take advantage of free shipping from a location you must purchase at least 6 bottles or cans from the location. If you don’t, shipping is automatically added to the order. This isn’t as confusing as it seems because each beer has the location that it is shipped from and you can even sort on location. My purchase is good example of what LetsPour offers. The Oak-Aged Bretta from Logsdon was what drew me in so I looked around to fill my order with Gigantic‘s The Time Traveller, Howe Sound‘s … Read entire article »

Bottle Trek – Online Store Review

Bottle Trek – Online Store Review

Bottle Trek, a bottle shop in Springfield, Oregon, is a hidden gem for online beer shoppers looking for some of the harder-to-get Northwest US releases. Over the past year to two I’ve sent emails to Lisa at Bottle Trek inquiring about certain releases, and have always received a prompt reply. My latest purchase is perfect example. I missed the release of Deschutes‘ Dissident in 2009 and I was determined not to miss out this time around. The … Read entire article »

Archer Liquors – Online Store Review

Archer Liquors – Online Store Review

Archer Liquors, in Chicago, Illinois, has a different method of online shopping. Most stores will make either their entire inventory or a large subset available to online shoppers. Archer, however, will put together different “boxes” of beer. Each box will have a selection of beers that Archer has specifically picked. I have signed up for their email alerts that are sent out when new boxes are available. The latest alert quickly woke up the beer community because … Read entire article »

West Lakeview Liquors – Online Store Review

West Lakeview Liquors – Online Store Review

After the poor service I received in a recent attempt to order beer online I simply had to get back up on that horse! I received many suggestions about good online beer stores that I needed to check out; one of those stores is West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago, Illinois. I was not to be disappointed! My order consisted of Borgo’s Duchesic, three releases from Perennial, six releases from Pipeworks, Revolution’s Double Fist, and Three Floyds’ Moloko. … Read entire article »

Online Beer Sales – Customer Service Comparison

Online Beer Sales – Customer Service Comparison

I have reviewed a number of stores that do online sales: Beverages 4 Less, Bine & Vine, Bruisin’ Ales, Kahn’s Fine Wines, and Luekens Liquors. I will only be talking about stores that I have directly ordered from. What I’ve realized is that the different retailers all treat their online customers differently. Some of the retailers treat all of their customers the same while others will only make certain rare releases available to their in-store … Read entire article »

Bine & Vine – Online Store Review

Bine & Vine – Online Store Review

Bine & Vine Bottle Shop, located in San Diego, California, has a large selection of western US and international beers that beer lovers in other parts of the US are always trying to get a hold of. Some of you may remember B&V when it used to be called South Bay Drugs, but around approximately a year or two ago they were forced out of their previous location in the South Bay. Cascade Brewing – Online Beer Sales

Cascade Brewing – Online Beer Sales

Cascade Brewing is a small brewery founded by Art Larrance in Portland, Oregon, in 1998. Tiring of the “hops arms race,” Art and brewmaster Ron Gansberg wanted to find the next big style to concentrate their efforts on. Taking advantage of the large supply of local fruit and many local wineries, Art and Ron set out to create great sour beers. They began their journey with several oak barrels in 2005. By 2006, they were producing … Read entire article »

Beverages 4 Less – Online Store Review

Beverages 4 Less, based in Santee, California, has a large selection of western US beers and other special releases that are very hard to get elsewhere. I keep up to date on their latest arrivals via their mailing list. In 2012, they were named as one of the Top 50 Beer Retailers by Rate Beer. And now, a brief review: Beverages 4 Less Nothing fancy for a web site or a store front but it is worth checking out.   … Read entire article »
